Frontier Trails COVID-19 Protocol

Frontier Trails Camp is monitoring the COVID-19 situation as best we can with the government and public health. We are hard at work making sure that Camp this year will be the same excellent experience, as every other year. Some activities may look different based on recommendations received from public health. Our registration will probably be a little different with more time to spread out.

As of now, these are some of the protocols we would likely have in place:

establishing camper cabin group cohorts
use of masks when social distance can not be established with an instructor or camper out of cohort group
social distancing during meals in conjunction with our outdoor seating under the big top tent
frequent handwashing
regular health screening for campers and staff at Camp
Adjusting activity schedules to accommodate smaller groups
Additional hand sanitizer available across the property
Routine cleaning and heightened disinfecting throughout facilities, including activities and equipment
Signage posted to reinforce important behaviours

We will continue to share regular updates as we look forward to a successful Summer Camp season.

FAMILY CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN at Frontier Trails.

The Ontario govt. is doing a staycation credit on your income tax, which does include camping or renting for your vacation in Ontario. Ontario residents can claim 20% of their eligible 2022 accommodation expenses, for example, for a stay at a hotel, cottage or campground, when filing their personal Income Tax and Benefit Return for 2022. You can claim eligible expenses of up to $1,000 as an individual or $2,000 if you have a spouse, common-law partner or eligible children, to get back up to $200 as an individual or $400 as a family. Eligible expenses include, cottages and campgrounds. Ont. Govt also enhanced the CARE tax credit, Eligible families can claim up to 75% of their eligible child care expenses, including services provided by child care centres, homes and CAMPS! which will help provide some tax relief to families sending kids to camp and outdoor education programs.

We may have reduced capacity with COVID-19, so there will be limited spaces, so get your registrations in early.

If Family Camp is more comfortable for you we have family trailers available for rental from May to Oct. in a separate area of the property. Families can book activities or Parents can enjoy the alone time while their kids go to day camp each day! WIN! WIN!

It is hard to believe that summer once again is just around the corner. It has been a very long and very unpredictable journey this past 2 years. It has been an incredibly challenging road to navigate with many ups and downs. With safety as the main priority, we knew Camp would look very different this summer but would still have the same camp Friends, Memories, and Fun we’ve all grown to look forward to each summer.

The health and safety of our campers and staff have always been our highest priority at Frontier Trails Camp.

Our goal is to keep Frontier Trails open for Summer Camp, Family Camping, Rentals and activities. and to give as many opportunities as possible for YOU to COME UP TO CAMP for Family Cabins, Trailers & Campsite Rentals & Outdoor Skills & activities.
