About Us

Frontier Trails, a non-profit Interdenominational Christian camp, provides a memorable experience for children and youth who enjoy vigorous outdoor activity while benefiting from the special camaraderie one shares in a family-oriented camp community.

Dave and Marie Tubby, along with their children and summer staff, have been operating Frontier Trails Camp as a family operation since 1976. Their four-season resort is casual yet comforting, offering facilities and programs designed to stress the importance of treating others like one would like to be treated, and allowing everyone their own space while sharing each others gifts and talents. Each year they welcome children and youth from a variety of countries and social backgrounds, celebrating a myriad of personalities, languages and cultures. Reinforcing the value of individual self-worth is encouraged at all times through skills-development, sing-songs and campfires. A traditional farmhouse at Frontier Trails is home for the Tubby family, and they treat each and every camper as a welcome guest to the camp.

Set on the shores of the Bonnechere River, Frontier Trails offers 100 acres of forests and fields, miles of groomed riding and hiking trails, and 3500′ of natural unspoiled shoreline including a clean sandy beach. The staff is specially chosen and caring, the horses, pets and equipment are safe and well cared for, and the home-cooked meals are fresh and nutritious. Campers and counselors sleep in comfortable, well-ventilated boys and girls dorms. The main camp building includes washrooms, showers, dining room, kitchen and a sitting/recreation room.

Campers choose the length of stay, type of program, and camp electives reflecting a variety of outdoor interests and abilities. At the end of each session, parents are invited to attend Rodeo Day, to share in the fun and accomplishments of the campers. Dave and Marie have worked as Camp Director and Administrator of Frontier Trails since 1976. Both spent their teenage and college years working with kids, youth and special needs groups. Dave’s youth included many summers at camp including several leadership training programs. Marie grew up as the oldest daughter in a family of ten children, and has trained and worked as a nurse in hospitals and at camps since 1973.

We are a small camp. Large camps aren’t necessarily bad, but it’s easy for campers to get lost in the crowd when your are one of hundreds of campers. At Frontier Trails, we view our summer camp program size of 40-60 campers a great asset. We will know your son or daughter and will be able to help them meet individual needs and goals. Our Mission

Frontier Trails Camp Mission is to provide a wholesome Christian recreational environment, which fosters personal growth by encouraging both campers and staff in a right relationship with God and with each other. Regardless of the time of year, outdoor adventures present opportunities for campers to be challenged, to try something new, support one another, realize an undiscovered talent, increase self esteem, or simply enjoy the great outdoors.

Camp Philosophy

Frontier Trails exists to demonstrate the knowledge and love of God to campers, through teaching, example, and nature. Frontier Trails Camp seeks to provide a compassionate, caring, fun and safe atmosphere through every activity for our campers. We see each camper as a person of infinite worth, created in the image of God. Our goal for our campers includes a personal faith, a sense of worth, personal achievement, healthy relationship with others and a positive camp experience. At Frontier Trails, we believe that it is of vital importance to have leaders of strong faith and character. The Leaders are here to be a catalyst for growth and an excellent role model. As such, we are committed to a high standard of training and staff development. Camp Leaders have an exceptional opportunity to experience life with the campers; they play, work out problems, share discoveries, and discuss life. All of these circumstances present teachable moments in which campers can build on skills, gain confidence, grow in their self esteem, encourage moral character and learn a love for their Creator.
